Terms of Service

Effective date: August 2026

The short version

This is an educational platform for learning chocolate-making. You keep ownership of what you create. Be decent in the forum. We can suspend accounts that abuse the app or other members. Nothing here is professional food-safety advice — use your judgment making chocolate at home.

Your account

  • You need an account (Google or email sign-in) to save content or post in the forum. Watching lessons doesn't require one.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your login secure.
  • We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or harm other members.

Your content

  • Recipes, formulas, tasting cards, and experiment records you create are yours. We don't claim ownership.
  • By using the app, you give us permission to host, store, and display your content back to you, and to use experiment/test outcomes (not the recipe or formula itself) in aggregated, de-identified form, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • We don't sell your specific recipes or formulas to sponsors or third parties.
  • Content you post in the public forum is visible to other members, and, for aired-lesson forums, to logged-out visitors.

Subscriptions & billing

  • Paid tiers are billed through Stripe. Pricing, usage allowances, and founding-member terms are as described at signup.
  • Cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Sponsors & advertising

  • We may work with sponsors — episode sponsorships, featured products, and similar. Sponsored content is always clearly labeled.
  • Sponsors never get preferential or false placement inside functional tools, like ingredient search, where accuracy matters to your results. If it shows up as a match, it's a real match.

Community rules

  • Be respectful. No harassment, spam, or illegal content.
  • We can remove content or restrict posting privileges that violate this.

Disclaimer

  • This app teaches chocolate-making technique and provides AI-assisted suggestions (“Nib”). It's educational, not professional food-safety, allergen, or commercial-production advice. You're responsible for safe food handling, allergen awareness, and complying with any laws that apply to selling what you make.
  • The app and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll note material changes here and, where significant, notify you directly.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
